Bella Rose Tutorial

Good morning, Steph here again. Have you seen all of the new products yet? There are some wonderful new products in the Store that you will love creating with so go check them out!

I began by creating a 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" square card using Luminized Curious Metallic (silver) cardstock. This cardstock is a heavy weight cardstock and creates the perfect card base and as you will see, it's NOT just for creating Christmas cards.

I pulled 2 coordinating sheets of paper from the Glitz Pretty in Pink pattern paper collection pad, cutting the dark pink 5 1/4" x 5 1/4" and the "Lovely" top sheet 5" x 5".

This paper is pretty, but it did need a little detailing. So, I placed the "Lovely" paper on my Scor-Buddy, and created 3 score lines across the top of the paper, scoring at 4 1/4", 4 1/2" and 4 3/4". Be sure to score on the reverse side of the paper for maximum impact.

Next, turn the paper so that the scored lines are now horizontal. Score 1/4", 1/2" and 3/4" along the left side stopping at the first horizontal score line.

Turn to the right side of the "Lovely" pattern paper and ink the edges with brown ink. This really helps to emphasize the score lines. Adhere the pattern paper to the card.

Die cut 2 ovals from the remaining Silver Metallic cardstock and ink the edges with brown ink. Adhere them to the card, slightly over the scored lines.

Stamp and die cut the large rose from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Bella Rose stamp set on the left over piece of Silver Metallic cardstock.

Color the rose with Copic Markers - R81, R83, R89 and the leaves with YG61, YG63, and YG67. The silver cardstock adds a hint of shimmer under the Copic Markers.

Ink the edges of the rose and adhere it to the ovals with Joy Foam Adhesives for dimension.

I'm thinking this would make a lovely Valentine's Day card, or even a "just because" card for someone special.

Thanks, Steph!  Beautiful card!!!

Unfortunately, since Steph wrote this tutorial, Pretty in Pink paper pads have sold out and even been discontinued by the manufacturer.  The good news is that this technique applies to any patterned paper with large open spaces!  It could even be used on solid paper and you could personalize it with your own stamping and embellishing style!  Click here to see all of the paper pads.

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

Sanded Summer Flowers

Hi, it's Holly posting today, and I've got this sweet sanded card to share with y'all.

I bought the new Summer Flowers (Formerly Flower Corner 1) embossing folder as soon as I saw it in the store, and I put some purple Core'dinations cardstock inside and ran it  through my Big Shot machine.  I then took my paper out of the folder and used some sandpaper to lightly sand the raised areas.  See how it brings out the embossed flowers from the embossing folder?  So cool!  You can do this with any of the embossing folders in the Classy Cards 'n Such store.

I didn't want to cover up any of this gorgeous sanding, so I used some Baby Pearls - White in the centers of the flowers.  I stamped the sentiment from the Hugs & Kisses Sentiments stamp set (JustRite) onto some white cardstock and cut it out with a Lacey Circle die (Spellbinders).

I love the gorgeous simplicity of this card.  Think of all the different colors you could do this with, and it would be perfect for birthday cards, Mother's Day cards, friendship cards, sympathy cards, and thinking of you cards.
So cute, Holly!  Another take on this beautiful folder!

When I re-ordered the Flower Corner 1 embossing folder, I got the same folder with a different name - Summer Flowers - by a different company.  It's the same folder, just different packaging.  I have several in stock, so get yours now!

Postal rates have increased and unfortunately, so must my shipping charges.  As always, for domestic orders only, I charge a small handling fee plus actual shipping.  Over payment of shipping/handling is refunded as store credit which will automatically apply to your next order.  The Classy Cards international shipping policy is here.  Thanks for your understanding!

Pink Hugs

Hi, it's Holly posting today.   This card that I've created for you is a very feminine, pink, floral, and flourish-y card.  Sometimes I just like to set out all my Cheery Lynn Designs dies and come up with something different.  Can you see what's "different" about my card?

Look at the lattice diamond.  Can you guess what die that is?  It's actually four of the Lace Corner Deco J lattice die cuts glued side by side to make a square.  Then I just turned the square around so it looks like a diamond.  Isn't that cool?  I came up with that just by playing around with the die cuts.

So from that lattice diamond, I decided to cut some flowers and leaves to put in the center.  I used the Sweet William dies to cut the flowers and the Leaf die to cut the green leaves.  I added a large White Pearl to  the center of the flowers.

My card base is a dark pink square upon which I've layered some striped paper from The Lake House paper pad collection.  I wrapped some Mauve sheer ribbon around the center of the card and then glued down the floral lattice piece.  I die cut some Mini Fanciful Flourishes from pale pink cardstock and tucked them in around my floral lattice piece.  Finally, I cut out the brand new Hugs sentiment from some dark pink cardstock and adhered that to the lower right corner.

Take some time to pull out some dies and play around with them.  You may be surprised at what new discoveries you make!  :-)
Very nice, Holly!  Thanks!

Flower Corner Valentine

Good morning, Steph here having fun with the Flower Corner 1 embossing folder.

This embossing folder is quite detailed and lends itself to so many possibilities.   While I created a Valentine's Day card, this could also be used for Mother's Day, Thinking of You, Thank You and more.

The sentiment is from the Hugs & Kisses stamp set by JustRite Stampers and I stamped it directly on the card front.  This 25 piece stamp set is full of sentiments that you can use time and again.

I chose to color the flowers with Twinkling H2Os in the following colors:
Spanish Moss, Ice, Hunter Gray, Spiced Pumpkin, and Bolivian Blue

Using a Tim Holtz Water Brush, I picked up the colors and painted my flowers.   Some flowers were painted inside the embossed areas and some were painted along the embossed areas.

Once I finished painting, I inked around the piece, then matted it with brown cardstock.  I used  Joy Foam Adhesives to add some dimension to the card.
This is such a gorgeous embossing folder!  Thanks, Steph!

The first shipment of Flower Corner 1 quickly sold out, but Classy Cards now has a new supply!   Get yours now by clicking the gold link above!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Enjoy!!

Accordion Folded Valentine

Hi folks!  It's Holly posting today, and I've got a fun Valentine card to share with y'all.

The products from Classy Cards 'n Such that I have used are:

This card is a Zig Zag accordion card from the Fancy Folds and Motion Paper Crafts CD from Technique Junkies.  I added some of the patterned paper to the accordion folds and punched some hearts from the same patterned paper pad.  They are sticking out of the accordion folds with the help of some silver wire.

The large red heart at the back of this card was cut from the Sweet Cakes 6x6 paper pad and adhered to a large white Scallop Heart (cut from the Classic Scallop Heart die set).  I die cut the letters I needed to spell out my sentiment and adhered them with the Quickie Glue Pen.  Lastly, I fashioned a tiny bow from the coordinating bakers twine and adhered that above the sentiment.

This will be a fun card to give to someone.  Can't you just imagine the surprise on the recipient's face when this springs open?  :-)
Such a cute idea!  If you want to add a little bling, there are five styles - some are rhinestones and some are pearls - of Scalloped Hearts - Nestabling.  All are beautiful!  Click the gold link to see them all!

Hummingbird Valentine

Hi there! Steph here with a not so traditional Valentine's Day Card.

I just loved the look of the Webster's Pages Ladies & Gents Trendsetters but couldn't decide which of the gorgeous papers to use.  The packaging actually solved my problem since it had pictures of each pattern paper in the pack!  After inking the edges, I matted it with brown cardstock and adhered it to the upper portion of the card.  A simple sentiment from JustRite Stampers  Hugs & Kisses stamp set was stamped in brown ink in the lower right.

Spellbinders Nested Medallion Labels was the perfect backdrop for the Justrite Stampers Backyard Birds.  This set of stamps has 4 different birds along  with 4 different borders.   After die cutting the image, I colored it with Copic Markers.

Joy Foam Adhesives were used under the image to help provide more dimension to the card.
I love hummingbirds!  It's beautiful!!  I only have a few of the Backyard Birds stamp sets and they are no longer available from JustRite, so order yours now!

Gorgeous Caring Cameo card

Hello again, Classy friends!  It's Holly posting today, and I want to share this card that I created with one of the beautiful cameos from the Classy Cards 'n Such store.  You can see the resin cameos by clicking on the Embellish tab and scrolling down.  Aren't they beautiful??

I used the following items to create this card:

Lacey Ovals die (Spellbinders)
Labels 18 die (Spellbinders)

I started by die cutting a brown oval slightly larger than my pretty blue cameo, and then I cut a Lacey Oval from vanilla cardstock and adhered these together.  The blue layer was cut from the Labels 18 die and then embossed with the Flower Flourish folder, and then I used the Cuttlebug Highlights technique from Technique Junkies on it.

I stamped the Shabby Music background on brown cardstock and rounded off the top corners with a corner punch.  I adhered the Lacey Oval/cameo piece to the the blue Labels 18 die cut, and then I adhered that to my music background.  I adhered this brown square to a vanilla cardstock layer (with the top corners rounded off) and then stamped the Just Because sentiment at the bottom.  I wrapped some blue seam binding around this vanilla layer between the music background and the sentiment and then adhered this to a blue card base (also with the top corners rounded off).

I love how this card turned out - so pretty and romantic.  The resin cameos in the Classy Cards 'n Such store are so gorgeous, and it's easy to pop them on a card for instant elegance.
Sooo pretty, Holly!

All Spellbinders die cuts including Spellbinders D-Lites are 15%  off!  Both of the Spellbinders sets which Holly used on her gorgeous card and many, many more are on sale this week as are the super cute Spellbinders D-Lites!  It's a great time to stock up!!  You can see more details and the coupon code when you click here.

Sending Love to You

Good morning, Steph here again using the awesome Ladies & Gents Trendsetters pattern paper by Webster's pages.  I love the look of the cups and roses layered together in the corner.

I did trim the paper slightly to fit my card front, then  inked the edges with black ink and matted it with black cardstock before adhering it to the card.  I stamped both sentiments from JustRite Stampers Hugs & Kisses stamp set.  This stamp set has tons of options.  The upper sentiment was cut to fit within the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two die and I placed Joy Foam Adhesives under it to help it stand out.

Using Romantic Rectangles, I placed it to the left of the cups and added another sentiment from JustRite Stampers Hugs & Kisses stamp set.  After stamping  "Happy Valentine's Day", I cut the words apart so I could fit them within the rectangle.

Such an elegant card, Steph!  Thanks!!

A Snowflake Thank You

It's Holly posting today, and it's actually been cold here in Texas!  These chilly temperatures put me in the mood to make a snowflake card, so here is what I came up with.

I started with a couple of patterned papers and I cut the blue plaid paper with a fishtail notch using scissors.  Next, I used the Snowflake 5 die (Cheery Lynn Designs) and cut it out twice, once with white cardstock and once with blue cardstock.  I cut a smaller snowflake with the Snowflowers Set 1 die (Cheery Lynn Designs) from white cardstock.  I layered the large blue snowflake over the large white one, and then I layered the small white snowflower over the large blue snowflake.  A blue button was adhered to the center and the entire snowflake was adhered to the left side of the patterned papers.

I stamped the Thank You from the Sweet Wishes stamp set (Stampavie) with some plum ink near the bottom of the card.  The bottom corners were rounded off with a corner punch, and I wrapped some Chalk White seam binding around the top of the card.

Here's hoping you're staying warm!  :-)

Another cute one, Holly!

Sofia Heart Valentine & NEW Cheery Lynn release now available!!!

Hi everyone! It's Jenn and I'm feeling some love in the air so today I'm going to share a Valentine's Day card with you.

To create this card, I started with a 5.5 x 4.25 card base made with Pearlized Esse White Metallic cardstock.
I created my own background by using Trendy Tape by Queen and Co. in Polka Dot Red and Stripe Red. Trendy Tapes add color and pattern without adding bulk to your card.

For the focal point of my card, I die cut three Sofia Hearts out of Stardream Jupiter cardstock and arranged them in a triangle.

Finishing touches include a sentiment stamped on a label adorned with some Red Pearls.

I love how beautiful your card is, Jenn!  Striking, yet simple.

The January release of NEW Cheery Lynn dies is now available in the Classy Cards shop!  It is awesome!  Click here to see all of the new Cheery Lynn dies and much more!

I Love You

Good morning, Steph again with a quick Valentine's Day card for you.

I used beautiful papers from the Love Letters 6 x 6 paper pad, matting each with brown cardstock.  Doodlebug makes some awesome Doodle Twine that coordinated perfectly with this paper line, so I wrapped it around the left side of the card.

Several sheets of paper contained postage stamp alphabet letters, so I cut them apart to spell "I LOVE U" and matted each letter with brown cardstock and adhered to the front of the card.

Joy Foam Adhesives were used under the letters "I" and "U" to add a little more dimension.
Thanks, Steph!  What a cute idea!

Posy Patch Birthday

Good morning, Steph here again.  As we move onto the New Year, it's time to start thinking about all those upcoming birthdays.  Why not start now so you'll never be behind with your birthday cards?

I started with some beautiful papers from Collection Combo Pack - Ladies & Gents, Trendsetters by Webster's Pages. These double sided papers give you so many  possibilities.   Using the striped paper as my base layer, I cut the word paper to fit, matting it with some brown cardstock for a bit of dimension.

The sentiment is from Justrite Stampers Spring Words. This stamp set consists of 20 detailed stamps that can be used for so many different projects and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I stamped the sentiment on a left over scrap of paper from Webster's Pages, matting it with brown cardstock before it adhering to the card.

The Posy Patch Garden Delights stamp set by Heartfelt Creations is a pre-cut stamp set consisting of three beautifully detailed stamps. I chose the watering can with posies. Coloring it with Copic markers, then  I carefully cut it out.  Needing to place a mat behind my stamped image, I selected one of Spellbinder's dies, Labels Eighteen, die cutting the largest die from a beautiful piece of Super Gold Metallic paper and a smaller die from brown cardstock.  The image was then added to the card with Joy Foam Adhesives for dimension.

Steph is right!  I can never keep up with cards!  Paper like the Ladies & Gents, Trendsetters helps you put your cards together more quickly if you need to since you can embellish as much or as little as you want.  Better yet, Ladies & Gents, Trendsetters is on clearance!   Get yours while they last!

Thanks for stopping by!!!  Until next time...

White Snowflowers

Hi Classy friends!  It's Holly posting today, and I'm happy to share this wintery white snowflowers card with you,  The products from Classy Cards 'n Such that I used are:

Tropical Flourish die (Cheery Lynn Designs)

Judy's Blooms dies (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Wreath Strip die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Olive Branches die (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Pair of Ferns dies (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Snowflowers Set 1 (Cheery Lynn Designs)
Snowflowers Set 2 (Cheery Lynn Designs)

I embossed a piece of white cardstock with the Holiday Magic folder and adhered it to a white card base.  I then die cut all the pieces you see on this card and loosely arranged them to see how they would fit.  Once I was satisfied with the arrangement, I glued everything down.  That consisted of starting with the ferns, and then I tucked the flourish die cuts in next to the ferns.  The Olive Branches were the next thing to be glued down, and then I reached for my flowers.

The flowers were created by cutting the Judy's Blooms flowers twice and layering them on top of each other.  The two Snowflowers die cuts were added to the top of my flower blooms and rhinestone brads were affixed to the centers of each of the three flowers.  I glued the flowers down onto my card and then added the Wreath Strip pieces here and there to fill in and give additional texture to my card.

The last thing I did was stamp the sentiment with a gray ink and cut it out with an oval die.  I tucked that in to an empty spot in the middle of the card.

I love making white on white cards.  They are so crisp and elegant and serene.  I hope you are inspired to try a white on white card today.  :-)

Sooo pretty!
